10 Years of the Swiss Academy of Ophthalmology – a decade marked by vision, dedication, and continuous development. Founded with the goal of consolidating continuing education, ensuring quality, and providing new impetus for ophthalmology, the Academy has established itself as an important complement to the SOG. Despite challenges, its mission has remained clear: to provide practical support for colleagues and to promote knowledge, research, and exchange.

Today, the SAoO stands for collaboration, innovation, and a forward-looking approach—as evidenced by joint projects such as the OMPA training program and an ever-expanding range of member services. The outlook is optimistic: The Academy will continue to strengthen its role and actively shape the future of ophthalmology in Switzerland.
