SAoO – Our Mission

The Swiss Academy of Ophthalmology is a national foundation dedicated to quality assurance, research and continuing education in practical ophthalmology. It acts both as a support and primarily as an initiator of projects and new ideas and strives to supplement traditional training, teaching and research activities with new means and impulses.

The foundation is committed to maintaining the high quality standards in ophthalmological practice and works to integrate all innovative ideas and projects into the existing structures. It is neutral in terms of denomination, professional policy, association policy and health policy, completely independent and free from regulatory, institutional and industrial ties.
